Following in the footsteps of my grandfather Rabbi Moshe Leybel, a talmid of the famed yachal yeshiva in Lublin, who after surviving WWII by escaping the nazi cattle trains twice, somehow found the courage and willpower to help survivors and the Jewish nation as a whole.

In postwar France he courageously founded two orphanages, and fought tooth and nail to open the first post war yeshiva in Aix-Les-Bains, France, the idea of opening a yeshiva at the time was so outrageous that it took months for him to convince the Jewish charitable organizations involved in the postwar efforts to even agree that it is not a completely futile effort.

During his later years he served as a Rav in Israel where he continued to inspire many.

Of his exceptional life, there’s much to be learned, but one thing stands out as we embark on this journey, the curriculum he established in both the orphanages and the yeshiva.

Aside from the recognizable classes in gemara and halacha, he put an emphasis on studying the history of the oral torah, from the era of the tannaim to the late achronim, he understood on a most basic level, that in order to ensure that the next generation will thrive and adhere to torah principles, they must have a foundational understanding and knowledge of our great heritage.

It is with great enthusiasm that we start this journey of bringing our heritage to life, so that generations to come will be able to connect and appreciate their history in an entertaining and creative way.
